  • Aromatic steam – Fill a bowl with steaming water, add a few drops of Eucalyptus Oil, drape a towel over your head and lean over the steam. Breathe the steam for 10 minutes. It will help you breathe easier by unblocking your blocked nose.
  • Gargle with salt water – Put 1 teaspoon of salt in a glass of mildly hot water and gargle for about 40 seconds. Try not to swallow the substance. It will help to heal your sore throat.
  • Take a breather - You can get relief from congestion by breathing in aromatic steam.  All you need is your kitchen or bathroom sink filled with steaming water, a towel, and a teaspoon of Vicks VapoRub® mixed with the water.  Place the towel over your head to trap the steam while you lean over the sink and breathe in the steam.  Do this for at least five minutes or until your nasal passages become clear.  In place of Vicks VapoRub®, you can use two teaspoons of freshly chopped ginger or a few drops of eucalyptus or menthol oil.  You can also decongest your airways by sitting inside the bathroom, with the door closed, and letting the hot shower run to create steam.  Inhale the steam to moisten your sinuses and open your breathing passages.
